Izzy Maternity Hosts Infant Massage Workshop
Atlanta, GA – Izzy Maternity held an expectant mom workshop on the art of infant massage Wednesday, June 3, at its Buckhead location. New and soon-to-be parents learned the benefits of massaging a baby as well as some tips on baby massage at home.
Certified Infant Massage Instructor, Candice Selby was guest speaker for the evening. She discussed the positive effects massage can have on a baby’s health including improved circulation and relief from colic symptoms. Parents were able to follow along on dolls as Candice demonstrated the proper strokes and positions to use with a baby. She also gave tips on ways to enhance a massage experience through music and exercise.
“Infant massage was a topic I hadn’t heard of before coming to this workshop,” said Tracy Cannizzo of Atlanta, “I really enjoyed learning about something new.”
Expectant mom workshops are a new initiative started by Izzy Maternity in January of 2009. By facilitating workshops, Izzy Maternity hopes to serve as both a maternity retail destination and a place where expectant moms can garner advice on all their pregnancy needs. Each event features a local business or service that is relevant to women who are expecting.
Workshops are held monthly at one of the two Izzy Maternity locations. They are always free of charge and open to the public.
